Japan Earthquake and Tsunami

May 17, 2011; Ishinomaki, Miyagi Pref., Japan - Damage after the magnitude 9.0 Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami that devastated the Tohoku region of Japan on March 11, 2011...A child's doll rests on debris as the sea water begins to creep into the city of Ishinomaki. The city shifted southeast 17 feet (5.3 meters) and sank 4 feet (1.2 meters) as a result of the powerful 9.0 magnitude earthquake. Parts of the city now get flooded twice a day during high tide.
